The Echo Hedge Trimmer will help you to keep perfect shapes. A power trimmer like the Echo Hedge Trimmer HC-152 with long blades will help cutting a larger area in less time due to its single or double reciprocating blades. When replacing blades with a new set or re-attaching them after sharpening make sure to tighten the Echo Bolts and nuts correctly on your gas hedge trimmer to operate properly.
Replacing the blade on your Echo Hedge Trimmer
Before starting, remember to wear safety leather gloves as blades are very sharp even when not in motion. Once you set the hedge trimmer on a flat surface such as a workbench or table, grasp and pull the spark plug boot straight upward to remove it from the spark plug. This action prevents accidental starts on power tools. Place the sharpened or new hedge trimmer blades on top of the stiffener bar, aligning the four bolt holes in each.
Insert the Echo Blade Bolt head through one hole from underneath the bar and blade and hold it in position with one hand. Place a locknut on the top of the bolt and turn it clockwise until it is tight. Place one 13mm open-end wrench around the hex head bolt on the bottom and hold it tight with one hand. Place the second wrench in the same size on top of the locknut and turn it clockwise to tighten it. Turn the locknut one-half turn counter clock wise to loosen it slightly and allow free movement of the reciprocating hedge trimmer blades. Press the spark plug boot firmly onto the top of the spark plug.
